Why you should do that maternity session // Metro Detroit Maternity Photographer
Yes Mama, the maternity IS worth doing. Hear me out with these three reasons why.
1. Celebrate that babe your body is growing!
At the time, you feel uncomfortable, huge, and you are certainly not wanting to be the focus in photos. Good news. You're not the focus, but you and that adorable bump that you're carrying is. Let me get the right angles of you, highlighting the beauty of what your body is doing. Your heart is literally beating for two. This is the time that you yearned for - to have that gorgeous belly, feeling your baby's kicks and hiccups, growing your family. Capture it.
2. Your family is about to change.
I remember when I was pregnant with my second child. Besides wondering how I was going to balance two kids two and under, I have to admit I felt sad thinking about how this was all going to effect my oldest. She was my little sidekick and mama's girl, and I knew bringing home a second child was going to change the dynamics. I knew she'd be hanging with daddy much more while I tended to our second. And I was right, but it all just shifted and I can't imagine our family of four any differently. The same will happen for you. If it is your first, your marriage will shift. If it is your second +, it will shift. Take a moment to have a session with just the two of you or with your current family. It is so, so worth it! And you better believe your child will absolutely love to see those photos, especially as they grow older. (Random: my mom has ONE photo of her while pregnant with me... her standing at the kitchen counter, one hand on her hip and one on the counter, half smile. I LOVE that photo. And I wish she had more. She looked stunning.)
3. You deserve it.
True story, Queen. Remember all of the morning sickness you went through in the first trimester? Or how about how exhausted you feel with everything your body is doing to grow that sweet babe? How about trying to find something comfortable to wear? Or how hard it is getting to tie your shoes (no? just me? ;)). In a maternity session, it is all about you, your gorgeous pregnancy glow and bump, and the connection you have with your family.
Those 40 weeks of pregnancy is filled with so much emotion, excitement, and anticipation. Take the time to have a maternity session done. You won't regret it.
