The Sitter Session: What it is, Why you need it, and What it captures! / Detroit Baby Photographer
Your baby is sitting up now! That is such a huge and exciting milestone for your little one. I remember thinking about my own kids and feeling excited that they could sit and play rather than lay on their backs or just tummy time. It’s the little things in life, right? But truly, once your baby is sitting up, you realize just how fast they grow and develop, and you want it captured.
What is a Sitter Session?
Let me introduce you to what is called a Sitter Session. These sessions are what I recommend as that “mid-year” session, and usually takes place between 6-8 months old or when your child can sit unassisted.
Why you need it!
At this point, their little personalities are developing, they have some super sweet rolls on their bodies since they aren’t mobile yet, they’re usually pretty easy to get smiling, and they’re not afraid of their favorite photographer because stranger danger doesn’t set in until around the one year old mark. The photos from a Sitter Session show off all that sweetness!
What will the pictures be like?
Sitter sessions are completely styled based on your preferences, but here’s the fantastic news - I provide everything needed. At the studio, I have a “Client Closet” that baby clients get to use, and it is filled with timeless and boutique type outfits. What that means is, we will plan your session out together beforehand so I can show you examples and see what you like best. We also talk through some different set ideas so you get exactly what you love. Some parents don’t have a huge preference and that is ok too! I’ve got you covered.
