You are expecting your second baby - congratulations!
As your family expands, there is so much excitement with baby number two (or three, or four or more!) on the way: watching your firstborn become a big sister/big brother, your husband becoming an even better daddy, the joy of introducing your new bundle of joy to friends and family, and my personal favorite - looking forward to watching your children form that one-of-a-kind sibling bond. So how will having baby #2 be different from the baby #1?
Everything seems easier with the arrival of your second baby too.
-You’re already on a schedule with your firstborn.
-You already have the baby basics: crib, diaper bag, bottles, stroller.
-You have learned that breastfeeding or formula both feed your baby, and that’s ok.
-You understand the value of a white noise machine (can I get an amen?!)
-You know the baby weight will come off in due time and not to freak out.
-You know that the days are long, but the years are short. Embrace these times.
In full transparency, something I didn’t expect with my second pregnancy was a type of mourning for the one-on-one time with my firstborn.
This was something no one ever mentioned going through, but I’m sure I’m not the only one. For me personally, my firstborn was my little sidekick. Then there was suddenly a newborn needing attention, and I did miss our little lunches out together, shopping and playing at the park. But I quickly learned that this gave Daddy the opportunity to have more time with our oldest which was amazing to watch. And as baby number two got older, our new routine settled in nicely and we each enjoyed our new roles in the family. Now I can’t imagine anything different.

Enjoy this time, Mamas. When people tell you it goes so quickly, it really is true.
